I am so excited!!!! I received my package from HBIC and I love it! I found out about this line after following @HBICStreetwear on twitter  and checking out their website
(The name caught my attention IMMEDIATELY).
As a woman I love feeling like im in charge and I don't mind broadcasting it to the public lol...*fist pumps*.
I received several shirts but my absolute favorite is "In front of every good man stands an HBIC".... It's so comfortable i've  worn it with some cute sweats and my air max's and even paired it with a chic blazer and pumps. I have had so many ladies ask me where I got it from so that they can cop their HBIC Gear, check out the styles below and the story behind the sexy clothing line.......

HBIC Streetwear

HBIC is a line of streetwear designed for females looking for clothes that can be worn effortlessly with heels or kicks and appeals to women who are on their grind, independent and taking charge of their lives. Our apparel has a feminine cut to fit to the curves of a woman’s body and is decorated with HBIC inspired graphic prints that are sure to become a staple in any HBIC’s closet.

Today more than ever, women are in control of their lives and destiny. We are more independent and confident, modern day super women (working, cleaning, and raising children). We are doing the same things that their male counterparts are doing in the workplace, and doing it with style and finesse (In Heels or In a Pair of Fly Kicks). HBIC streetwear was created with strong minded, successful women in mind and is for all the women who RUN THINGS, in whatever they do. Wether running a business, a family or being in charge of your own life and journey through this world. Don’t be fooled by her beauty, sexual allure and charm. HBICs are not to be taken lightly and command respect for their fierce independence, passion for life and confidence.

Everyone knows that HBIC stands for Head Bitch in Charge. But you will see in some upcoming shirts that I use Bitch and Beauty interchangeably for the letter B in HBIC. This is because woman are so versatile and can be that strong bitch when they have to and be that feminine beauty at the same time.

Favorite Quote

“Bitch is not a Bad Word. I see the word for what it is: a reflection of people’s lack of creativity and inability to acknowledge and embrace a powerful woman. The true definition is a woman who won’t comply."
BITCH = Boss In Total Control of Herself. ” -- Kelly Cutrone, HBIC of People’s Revolution

Rhianna poses for Marie Claire's December issue and opens up. Rhianna on Destiny: "Do I believe in Destiny? Definently. And I never did before. The most important thing is to be happy and true to yourself. I don't want to look back at this 30 years from now and say, "I did it all to make them happy and I didn't enjoy." I want to be able to say people loved me because of who I am.'

The full interview with Rihanna is in Marie Claire's December issue.

I ♥ Denmark!

This post is dedicated to my Denmark readers who have shown me so much support since the start of my Blog.

I decided to do a little research on what's hot right now in fashion for Copenhagen and I am blown away!

I am really digging the Denmark blog "Copenhagen Street Style". One of the things I adore about their culture is their daring fashion and confidence.

Lauren Conrad: Sweet Little Lies

You may remember Lauren Conrad from a slightly popular reality show called the Hills on MTV. Well this blonde from the OC has created a brand for her self before the age of 25. Lauren not only has her show- The Hills, she also has a partnership with the spin off reality show-"The City", Teen Vogue, her own clothing line, and now three best selling books.

In a documentary earlier this year, MTV execs discuss how  the renowned success of The Hills Reality Show was greatly due to Lauren's popularity among her schoolmates at the time.

I personaly didn't become a fan of Conrad until about a year ago when I saw her get her Kimora Lee Simmons on and aggressively pursue a career in fashion. I admired how despite being surrounded by trust fund babies her friends, she remained focused and took advantage of her stardom to solidify her name in Hollywood.

Cute room idea: Dream reading nook

vintage blends with modern to create unique space
Mix vintage and modern pieces together in a room to create one-of-a-kind spaces that tell a story.

Sharing a space with my soon to be hubby has proven to not be as bad as I thought it would be, but I still long for my own "personal posh place". When we purchase our first home one day (soon I hope) we agreed that he will get his "man lair" full of beer, sports, and air hockey and I will get my own "reading room/office". When this happens I would love to tailor mine after this cute room idea that I found on HGTV's website.

Cute nail idea: Nail Applique

Beyonce and Jay-Z expecting their first child! (Rumor Dispelled)

NEWS FLASH!!!! Mama Knowles has dispelled the rumors that her Golden Goose daughter is expecting a baby. Tina Knowles took to TMZ and stated that Bey is not expecting a little one and that the world is just wishful thinking. Here's my take on it, there has to be some desire from Bey to have a child but maybe the pressure from her camp is making it difficult to kick into effect, why else would this rumor keep surfacing over and over again.........

Monica is engaged!

Monica has announced her engagement to Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Shannon Brown and she even Tweeted photos of the rock her beloved slipped on her finger when he popped the question. Ice, ice baby.

Monica, 29, and Brown, a Lakers shooting guard who is 25, began dating earlier this year when Brown appeared in her "Love All Over Me" video.

Many congrats to Mo!

"The Conversation" by Hill Harper- Book Review

To give a quick background of the book: (Synopsis)

African Americans have always turned to family in times of need. But now, this proud and strong legacy is in peril. Black men and women have stopped communicating effectively, threatening the relationships and marriages necessary to sustain the Black family. In this moving and practical book, Hill Harper -- bestselling author, NAACP Image Award winner, and CSI: NY star -- undertakes a journey both universal and deeply personal in search of answers to this dilemma.

I finished "The Conversation" by Hill Harper and it was so insightful that I decided to skim back through it again in case I over or under analyzed something (that's how good it was lol) and I am at it's completion. Needless to say like so many other relationship books I went into this read with a skeptical outlook. I assumed that it would be pointing the finger at black women saying we didn't love enough, we didn't sacrifice enough, or we didn't wear enough of our natural hair lol, but to my satisfaction it was nothing like that.

Harper takes the struggle of black love generations back and analyzes the root of why so many of us today have difficulties loving each other and maintaining healthy relationships. He takes jabs at his own personal love life and unmasks fears that have prevented him from pursuing marriage. I appreciated his vulnerability because it made it that much easier for me to digest the hard things that I identified in my own personal love life. Unlike it's rival love and relationship book "Act like a lady, think like an asshole man" it doesn't try to sell you tricks of the trade or encourage you to dumb down your dreams and aspirations to obtain a man.

I especially loved the conversations at the end of the book in which he allowed women and men to engage in sort of a questions and answer section that showed that men AND women have absolutely no clue when it comes to what each other are thinking. As a woman, many of my assumptions about men were dispelled and put to rest because all men do not think the same (Ex: all men aren't afraid of commitment, they don't always think about sex, and many don't find successful women intimidating).

One of the most important things that I learned from this book that I think would really help many of us is understanding that we can not blame our boyfriend/husband for the mistakes of all the bad men we have come into contact with and vice versa. When you are having a disagreement, address the issues. Don't make blanket statements or bring up things that other men have done to hurt you. Break the cycle and fight for a healthy harmonious relationship.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz welcome their new baby boy!

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz welcome their new baby boy "Egypt Daoude Dean", not crazy about the baby's name, how Swizz Beatz bailed on his ex-wife, or how everyone is ignoring Alicia's "jump-off" behavior but I always smile when a baby is born, so congratulations Swizzlicia!

Going Au Naturel♥! (Hair)

As a black woman I know the struggle in styling curly or coarse hair. I have entertained going natural for a while but haven't had the guts to cross over.

In an effort to muster up the gumpshin I started looking for "natural hair" support groups and low and behold these groups really exist! My favorite so far is a blog called "Black Girl with Long Hair" where black, latina, and multi-racial women can go for styling tips, hair care, and more with taming their beautiful manes.

The blog is so diverse showing pictures of new natural hair converts before and after pics, accessories and products that will help you get the best out of your hair styling. Check out pics from the blogs photo gallery..........
